Purpose Of Role:

A Merchandising Admin Assistant provides effective administration support for the merchandising team and to assist with the planning and development of the department.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Allocate stock that comes into the business for a given department using the brand’s allocation system
  • Check and review allocations regularly, making amendments as and when necessary
  • Review sales performance to ensure stock replenishment is channelled to the most appropriate stores to increase sales, increasing or slowing replenishment where necessary
  • Assist the AM and Merchandiser and contribute to the decisions on the department
  • Monitor deliveries and maintain a schedule of deliveries with the Assistant Merchandiser
  • Maintaining the department’s delivery schedule to ensure stock delivered from suppliers is booked in at the right time and where necessary chasing suppliers
  • Escalate issues concerning supplier compliance to line manager
  • Monitor and maintain sales/stock levels concerning size ratios, making recommendations to the Assistant Merchandiser
  • Provide effective administrative support to the team by maintaining the filing systems and producing analysis reports for the department
  • Support the Assistant Merchandiser in meetings with Distribution, providing feedback on areas relating to deliveries, sales and department strategy
  • Develop an excellent working knowledge of computer systems in order to collate and relay relevant delivery and sales performance information for the department
  • Develop an understanding of stock management and how to manage markdown stock
  • Arrange and complete store visits, discussing findings with Merchandiser and Distribution and reviewing results of actions taken
