Merchandising is all about fast-paced planning, working with the Buying team to ensure we have a commercial product range, maximising product opportunities whilst minimising stock risk and getting the right product in the right place, at the right time. Our Merchandising team’s key focus is to make the right commercial decisions based on our customer needs to maximise sales and optimise profits.
We’ve taken our ‘Lovely Affordable Fashion’ philosophy across the Globe. Working closely with Buying and Merchandising our International & Wholesale team’s key focus is to work with our partners and drive sales in all corners of the world. In these departments you will use stock and sales analysis to maximise sales in these markets.
Logistics & Distribution is all about getting product to the right place at the right time all over the world and in perfect condition. We wouldn’t settle for anything less. It might sound simple enough, but we work with millions of garments every year, so you can see the challenge we have!
Dorothy Perkins and Burton are continuously growing and innovating in multi-channel marketplace with our digital platforms playing a key role in driving the business. Finding new and exciting ways to connect with our customers is a key priority for our Digital team.
It’s up to our Design team to keep the look and feel fresh and trend focused. Inspiration is sourced from around the world and, combined with our Designer knowledge of colour, fabric and print they create product that our customer loves. Our Garment Technology team then have the key role of guaranteeing every garment we make is high quality. Fit and quality is always at the top of the agenda to meet our customers’ expectations and ensuring our Global supply base meets our ethical guidelines.
Our Creative team are responsible for inspiring creative and visual identity, producing all visual assets both on and off-line. Our Marketing team ensure we then remain at the forefront of the womenswear market through a marketing strategy that is always engaging with our customers in an exciting way to maximise sales and drive Brand loyalty.
A great part of Dorothy Perkins is that it is a close partner with Burton Menswear and therefore our shared departments get to work across womenswear and menswear!
Known to us as ‘The People Team’, our HR Team supports all areas of people management for both Dorothy Perkins and Burton menswear. The team is constantly preparing for future business opportunities and challenges both in Head Office and Retail. Our Finance Team plan and analyse sales, review investment opportunities and prepare reports and accounts to drive brand sales performance and profit. Working with business stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities, they support both Dorothy Perkins and Burton Menswear in making key strategic decisions.
Supporting stores to drive sales and KPI results, the Retail Operations team is the crucial link between Retail and Head Office, ensuring a consistent and engaging customer message is delivered. Our Visual Merchandising team design in-store windows, product layouts, manage new store openings and oversee bespoke projects in line with our Brand visual strategy.
